Holland Law

I am on ISP, I got a DUI. First offense ever. I blew high, now that Michigan has a "super-drunk" law. Placed on ISP, have to attend AA, call in every morning to court to seeif i must drug test, house visits, curfew..the whole nine yards. I have dilligently completed every class, attend the AA meetings, always home for curfew..and will have the last of my fines paid early..next week. I am done with ISP in July. What happens afterward? I am not from Michigan, and have had nothing but bad experiences here for the last year and want to leave as soon as possible. I have a much better job offer in California, and wish to move back. Will I be finished with probation terms? Will I be able to go? My probation officer is very unapproachable and unresponsitive.
You will not be able to leave until you complete probation or you have permission of the court to leave. On your...
I recently got a second dui and have a few weeks to go before I can get the restricted license. I am in the sobriety court program which allows for me to get it in 45-60 days after court probation started.I have 2 vehicles. One I plan on driving and I know the interlock will be installed so I can drive it. I don't plan on driving the other one but can I still get plates for it? will they lock it up?can someone else get plates on it and how do you go about doing that?
Every vehicle you operate and/or own must have the interlock device installed. If you transfer plates to someone else,...
I have my 1st up coming arraignment for my DUI (I blew a .12), and I'm not too sure on how 1st arraignments go since I've never had one before. Since this is my first offense ever, I heard I should plea not guilty? And if so, do I then ask for a public defender?
You should absolutely plea not guilty at arraignment. 99% of the time this is what happens. Often magistrates or...
Clean record (up until now...) was pulled over, cooperated with the officer when asked to do my sobriety tests. Blew a .12 and I have court coming up, not too sure what to plea? Plea guilty or not guilty to try and get a lesser charge? Do I get an attorney? Do I have to ask for one? The officer also said he would put in a word for me on how well I cooperated with him, so does that help my case at all? Just wanting to know what I'm gonna be lookin forward to with possible fines, maybe jail time? What about my license?
Answer to the most important question: YES, YOU GET AN ATTORNEY! The cop may have said in his report that you...
if i get legal for medical marijuana will it effect his probation?
I don't practice in MI, but I don't anticipate any problems for your husband if you get your MM card. I suppose that if...
My best friend is on probation for a third offense ouil third offense in ottawa county michigan. He was arrested three days ago for a probation violation when the neighbors called the police because they heard him arguing with his wife. The responding officers administered three seperate breathalyzers with three different results, ranging from. 43 to. 27. His probation violation hearing is in two weeks. What is the likely outcome/sentence. His original sentence was was time served (55 days) and three years probation, he only had 6 months left and this is his second violation. His first violation was with a different po who said it wouldn't be put in his file although he did 30 days but had no violation hearing
I would suggest that he contact his probation officer to see what he or she plans to do. It is likely that the po will...
