Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords joined Illinois leaders Thursday to launch the Illinois Gun Violence Prevention Coalition to urge the state's leaders to curb the flow of illegal guns into the state. The Gun Dealer Licensing Act would give authorities the tools to encourage better business practices among federally licensed gun dealers and hold corrupt dealers accountable.

Now i need to go in for one of these investigative hearings. My questions are these: What exactly happense in these hearings? Am i going to be drug tested? Is there anything specific i should say in this hearing? Thank you for your help.

I was convicted of a DUI in 2008. I have not been to a hearing. It has been 5 yrs. how does time affect approval/denial?
I was convicted of a DUI in 2008. It was my 2nd offence, however, the first offence was reduced to reckless driving and I was given supervised supervision. It has been 5 yrs since my last DUI and I have had no legal trouble (traffic or criminal) since then. I haven't attempted to restore any driving privileges through any hearing process yet. Since 2008 I have started a stable career in Aviation, got married and have a 4-year-old-son. How will any of this affect the decision making of the Secretary of State in approving me for either an RDP, BAIID, or full reinstatement?
If you received a statutory summary suspension from the first arrest you are BAIID and formal hearing required. You...

What can I do about court fines for a DUI?
Hello, in 2014 I received a DUI in Cook County, Illinois. I was sentenced to 2 years probation, 90 hours of Alcohol abuse treatment, 200 hours of community service, Impact panel session, revoked license, probation fees, required to pay re-instatement fees for my drivers license, and lastly $2,914.00 in Court fines, I have completed everything, except, paying my reinstatement fees for my Drivers license which I believe is $550.00, and the $2,914.00 in court fines. Probation fees, treatment, and community service have been taken care of, but with me being disabled and on a fixed income, of 871.00 a month has made it nearly impossible for me to save the money for the court fines. The most difficult part is the fact that I live 4 hours away in western Illinois away from Chicago. My probation will becoming to an end in December of this year 2016. I was told that I am to pay my fines in full at my last hearing in Cook County, less the reinstatement fees which will be sent to Springfield. I do not know what to do about the fines. I would like to know if there is some leniency when it comes to fines? Thank you for your time.
You should discuss all options with your lawyer rather than relying on this online forum. Hopefully you had a lawyer...
What would be the penalty that he's looking at for these DUIs?
A friend of mine was arrested for a DUI 2/14/2015 with a BAC of .24. Currently the case is still open, he should be sentenced at his next appearance. However, he was picked up on 4/9/2016 for an AGG DUI, no valid license and leaving the scene, among other charges. This is his second DUI arrest in Illinois, but he also has one DUI in Michigan which was about 10 years ago.
Your friend needs to consult an IL attorney right away. This is serious. In Colorado, for example, if someone is...
