    A Henderson man was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison earlier this week on charges of obstructing justice and illegal possession of a firearm. Charlie O'Bryant Terry, 33, of Henderson, received 240 months of imprisonment, 24 months on a revocation of supervised release followed by three years supervised release after his term of imprisonment.

    Police have charged a man accused of shoplifting more than $2,000 worth of items from the Rockingham Walmart in April. Bryan Thomas Miles, 32, of Henderson, allegedly stole five Apple iPods and six handheld game systems on April 27, worth a total of $2,271.88, according to warrants for his arrest.

  • Two local men convicted on federal gun charges

    It was announced Thursday that two local men, one from Henderson and another from Manson, received three years in prison each after being convicted in two seperate federal gun cases. According to releases from the United States Attorney's office for the Eastern District of North Carolina, Lajohn Champion, 28, of Henderson, and Jatwaun Donkes Davis, 27, of Manson, were each sentenced to 36 months imprisonment followed by 3 years of supervised release by Chief United States District Judge James C. Dever III.

    A Henderson man was sentenced in federal court Tuesday to more than six years in prison after pleading guilty earlier this year to gun and drug charges. According to a release from the office of U.S. Attorney Robert J. Higdon Jr., Qua'Moria Ronde Davis, 20, of Henderson, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Louise W. Flanagan to 78 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.
