  • Pregnant Utah woman dies after weekend U.S. 40 crash

    Shantell Young, 22, of Duchesne, who was pregnant, died three days after a head-on crash, the Department of Public Safety said. Young and her husband were in an Audi eastbound on U.S. 40 about 13 miles east of Heber City when a westbound Ford Explorer veered off the road to the right and then overcorrected into oncoming traffic on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018.

  • New charges filed against man arrested in weekend he...

    Formal criminal charges were filed Monday against a man accused of causing a head-on crash in a stolen vehicle that critically injured a man and his pregnant wife. Tyson TJ Uresti, 22, is charged in Wasatch County's 4th District Court with being in a stolen vehicle, a second-degree felony; failing to remain at the scene of an injury accident, a class A misdemeanor; reckless driving, a class B misdemeanor; and failing to stay in his lane, an infraction.

    A man who police say caused a two-car crash that left two people in critical condition has a history of stealing cars and mental illness, according to court documents. Tyson TJ Uresti, 22, was arrested Saturday for investigation of being in a stolen vehicle, failing to remain at the scene of an accident involving injuries, and several other traffic violations.

    The man accused of killing six people while driving drunk on U.S. 40 has a history of driving intoxicated and with open containers dating back 20 years, according to court records. Jamie Don McKenzie, 41, of Heber City, was arrested for investigation of six counts of automobile homicide, two counts of causing serious injuries while driving intoxicated, having an opening container in a vehicle, reckless driving, unsafe lane travel and speeding.
