Is there away I can beat this DUI or get a lesser charge by this being my first offense
I got pulled over last night I passed all the test they have you do when they try to make sure your not drunk but I refused to do the breathalyzer so they took me in. They had me blow in this big machine and got my alcohol level. I did have a few drinks and I let them know that my license are also suspended the only reason I was driving was because my friend whos car it was was drunker then me she hit something and I got scared because I was in a bad car accident so I told her let me drive the rest of the way home. Im in school I work and I was working towards getting my license back I actually only have a couple more tickets in Detroit to pay and ill have my license back. but they wrote me a ticket for DUI and Driving on suspended license I go to court Wednesday.
Anything is possible but a lawyer cannot properly assess your options based upon this limited version of the events....
How do I take care of a dui in westland mi. from 99 ? no statue of limitations ?
job transferred me out of area . an I never looked back .
If you were charged back in 1999, then you most likely have a warrant. The warrant and charge doesn't go away until...
Can I test the next day if I missed a testing report day?
It was my first time testing on the weekend and for some reason I thought it was like any other test I've done and could do it later in the day. Can I test tomorrow to avoid getting in trouble, or less trouble??
You can test whatever test for whomever within their schedule and guidelines Best to ask the testing people as we have...

Can I apply for a Hardship License?
My license have been suspended due to someone causing a accident in my car and it was not insured. I did not know anything about them driving the car while I was out of town. I now have a 82,000 dollar judgement against me and my license is suspended. I read about a financial hardship license in michigan. (not sure exactly what it is called) Am I eligible to apply for that. I read it was a restricted license of some sort. I am trying to find ways to be able to get my license back, cause a $82,000 judgement is way out of my budget.
In order to fully answer your question you need to obtain and provide a copy of your historical driving record to an...
Can you legally refuse the Field Sobriety Tests in Michigan?
A topic at work keeps being brought up. Half the staff says you have no choice when it comes to taking FST's in Michigan, and the other half says you have the right to refuse. I am of the group that says to NEVER take a Field Sobriety Test because I believe it to be questioning and I have a right to counsel before questioning as well as a right to remain silent and not incriminate myself. Is there a law in Michigan that says you MUST submit to FST's? Thanks so much for helping to settle the argument. P.S. I understand being required to blow in the breathalyzer at the station, or submit blood after being arrested, so I wasnt referring to those.
The legal answer is that you do not have to take any tests and you do not have to answer any questions on the grounds...
What are statute of limitation laws
I have 1 DUI charge, and was stopped a second time after my probation was over. It has been a year and a half since my arrest and I still have not been charged as far as I'm aware. My license was suspended for a year by secretary of state, for refusing a roadside test. This suspension concluded in June. I'm wondering if I can get my license, and if I do will this bring charges? Is this long to not be charged common?
A year and a half is an unusually long time, although technically well within the statute.. Trying to get a license at...
