Will I be drug tested on my court hearing date?
Was accused of Use of Marijuana / use of a controlled substance, and was given a court date 2 months later in the mail for a "hearing" deciding if I go to trial or not. My question is urgent because I am around people who smoke Cannabis and it will show up in my system if I am tested on that date.
That's always a possibility. If you think you'll test positive always be honest with the judge upfront. If you say you'...
Once the fine is paid and the 20 days are completed, will his DUI sentence be complete or should he expect probation time after?
My boyfriend got a DUI in August of 2015 and was sentenced to 90 days in jail, but was given the privilege of 18 months probation in the sobriety court program. He violated his probation when he gave an unclean urine sample (from alcohol consumption) during his first report to his probation officer. He was placed in the "colors" program and certainly learned his lesson. He maintained his sobriety once he was placed on the colors system. His color was never called more than twice per week and never on two consecutive days. Now, this is his responsibility, of course, but he recently missed his color being called because it was the day after he had reported from his color being called. Since he had never had his color called two days in a row, he didn't call that morning to find out if his color was called, assuming it wouldn't be. He didn't know that his color had been called that day until he received a letter ordering him to appear in court for a probation violation and revocation. In court, he admitted his ignorance led to the violation, but we were floored when the judge revoked his probation and ordered 75 days in jail for his DUI, 20 days if fines were paid in full.

I received an OWI in Grand Haven,MI in December of last year and plead guilty because I was on Leave from the Army. It is my second however, the first was over 8 years ago. The Judge allowed me to leave as long as I would be back for the sentencing and as long as I enteredSubstance Abuse counseling I have done what was asked, but my leave was denied because I'm pending reassignment. I don't want to lose my career. What can I do?
Get something in writing (preferably signed and dated) from your commanding officer to prove you can't appear for the...
