A Gloversville man who authorities said took money for a contracting job he failed to perform was charged by Fulton County sheriff's deputies Tuesday with a felony. Deputies said John V. Oare Jr., 56, of 50 Lincoln St., was charged at 8 a.m. in Gloversville with third-degree grand larceny. Comment?

GLOVERSVILLE A city man is facing several felony charges, including attempted murder, from a July attack on a woman, according to city police. Elijah P. Brown, 24, formerly of 13 N. Water St., was indicted Thursday on charges of felony second-degree attempted murder, felony first-degree burglary that causes physical injury, felony first-degree burglary with the use of a dangerous instrument, felony first-degree assault and felony criminal possession of a weapon.
