The letter arrived at the Warren County Administrator's office on Tuesday, one day after the the writer pleaded guilty in Circuit Court to stealing 34 road signs. Tristan Warren Stone, 19, of 266 Grove Farm Road, Front Royal, apologized in the letter to the county's residents. Comment?

Town police have filed a charge of malicious wounding against a Front Royal man after interviewing the victim in the hospital where he was recovering from a gunshot wound suffered on Nov. 1. A criminal complaint filed in Warren County General District Court against Phillip Danyell Wilson, 36, states that the victim, Timothy Wayne Carter, 37, was trying to defuse an argument between Wilson and another man at 716 Warren Ave. just before the shooting. Carter gave his version of the shooting on Nov. 17 to Front Royal police Detective David Fogle. Comment?

The annual bell ringing began Nov. 13 in Luray and last Friday at Big Lots in Front Royal. On Black Friday, bell ringers and donation collection kettles will be stationed in front of Wal-Mart stores in Front Royal and Luray. Comment?

A Pennsylvania man is being held without bond in the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail after his arrest on charges of solicitation of a juvenile through the Internet for the purposes of engaging in sexual activity. Sheriff Daniel T. McEathron said Monday in a written statement that the defendant, Kirk Jeffrey Jacoby, 51, was staying in a room at the Budget Inn Motel, 1122 N. Royal Ave., Front Royal, at the time of his arrest. Comment?

Branch Highways is expected to start preliminary work on the connector road today, Jennifer McDonald, executive director of the Front Royal-Warren County Economic Development Authority said on Friday. County Administrator Doug Stanley said Branch Highways received the notice to proceed late last week. Comment?
