I have unpaid dui fines from a year and half ago. What is the best course of action to avoid jail time.
Lost my job 2 months into paying my dui fines. I have saved money to now and really want to take care of this before it becomes even worse.
Are you still current on your probation other than getting behind on your fees? Has a Motion to Revoke your...
Completed DUI school/MADD/community service before "stayed" date but submitting proof to court after? Is this a hard deadline?
First offense DUI reduced to wet reckless. Completed DUI school/MADD/community service before "stayed" date on probation order. Haven't submitted proof to court and just realized stayed date was yesterday (thought it was next week...). Was planning to go to court on Friday. Did I violate anything and will I face any issues going to court submitting my documents? Do I have anything to worry about?
Depends on what the court meant by "stay date." If you've done everything but get the proof to the court I would hope...
DUI Refusal- A friend was pulled over in Irvine. I was a passenger. I told him to refuse everything. Then they did a warrant
and took his blood. He is now looking at a 1 year suspension for the REFUSAL. Are there any defenses to a Refusal?
Yes, but he'll need an experienced attorney for it. Much of it has to do with the details of how everything happened.
I know that jobs, background checks, etc. can see my records and my DUI now, but how is it that my info (name, crime, and address) get posted up on some virtual "bulletin board" for the whole world to see?! I don't think that's right! How can I stop it? I'm getting 20 lawyer letters a day, and it seems like it's increasing! Is there any way to stop the junk mail from coming? Or maybe at least change the address they come to?!
Answered 7 months ago. That "jail mail" comes from attorneys that subscribe to services that comb arrest records. Those...
Hi, I got stopped at a DUI checkpoint, blew an 0.05. Blood test came back at 0.06. What should I worry about?
I recently got my CA driver's license back from a set aside from DMV as well about a week ago. I was stopped at checkpoint after switching drivers near checkpoint (I was paranoid) which caught their attention. The blood test should have come back clean since I do not use any drugs other than social drinking, which I stopped drinking 2 hours prior to driving hence the below 0.08 test. What should I do now as I await my late February court hearing? Should I request police report and video of arrest? Would that hurt me in any way? Also, when i was arrested, I asked to office why when I blew 0.05 twice and believe I passed my field sobriety test - he said he still felt I was under the influence and sent me to be booked. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you
There is not much to do at this point other than wait for your court hearing. The police report and additional...
I stopped and proceeded at a red light a policeman was behind me he pulled me over, and 2 more police cars pulled up.as soon as I stopped he drew his gun and shouted do not move or I will shoot you. Then gave a breathalyzer 0% alcohol then gave me 6 field sobriety tests which I passed except the last time I touched my nose before he asked because I had just done it 5 times and he failed me. Then searched my car and found my medical marijuana. Then took me into custody. and drew blood. He stated it was my choice because I asked about a urine test and he said I have to pee a quart . I think my case for a dui should have been dismissed before it went to trial. I have long hair and am a 40 year old male. My blood had my medications in it that I have been taking for 10 years.
You need an attorney. The exclusion of evidence is a very case specific issue. If it is headed for trial you really...
i am a psych undergrad at uci and also worried how this will effect school and future career goals of being a PHD. I was not hurt driving, did not crash, i made it a minute away from my destination when i was pulled over for speeding. how harsh will the punishment be?
Well, before you get into punishment, make sure you fully exhaust all defenses. A traffic stop for speeding is one...
