A Federal Way man is facing second-degree assault charges after allegedly punching a 62-year-old man's ear so hard it lacerated. Jevon R. Pines, 31, is being held on a $75,000 bail and will be arraigned Aug. 4 in King County Superior Court. Comment?

Man with assault warrant arrested : At 4:11 a.m. on July 11 in the 100 block of Southwest 356th Street, offers stopped a vehicle containing multiple suspects who were reportedly involved in an assault with a firearm in Kitsap County. The officers followed the vehicle until more units arrived and made a high-risk traffic stop, then detained the suspects and transferred them to Kitsap County law enforcement without incident. Comment?

The former owner of a Federal Way restaurant who's accused of murdering a Japanese businessman, tabulating fraudulent checks on his account and fleeing to Japan following the crimes could face extradition and stand trial in the U.S. On Thursday, June 30, Kyung Hee Dowdle - who's been charged with the first-degree murder of Toshio Ota as well as with four counts of forgery - failed to appear in King County Superior Court for her arraignment, according to King County Prosecuting Attorney Office spokesman Dan Donohoe. Dowdle's bail has been set at $5 million. Comment?

Suspicious objects detonated by bomb squad : At 1:44 a.m. on July 5 in the 2600 block of Southwest 351st Street, officers responded to a report of "suspicious objects." Police described the objects as appearing to be improvised explosives or modified fireworks. Comment?

Federal Way police have arrested four people, two of them known gang members, who were allegedly involved in the shooting of a 38-year-old man in the early morning hours of July 5. The victim, Sunrah Starling, is still listed in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center. Detectives have not been able to interview him as he's been intubated since being shot multiple times last week. Comment?

The A'Thug in a Rug BanditA' wore a wig in each of the four robberies he is suspected of perpetrating, and, during the June 3 robbery, he was described as having a black mustache. He may possibly have a tattoo on the upper right side of his chest, and a possible deformity or twitch in his right eye. Comment?

Taxi driver robbed : At 1:18 a.m. on June 27 in the 2100 block of Southwest 352nd Street, a taxi driver was robbed after three juvenile males got a ride and left without paying. The males were picked up in Tacoma and driven to Federal Way. Comment?

Federal Way police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock said an unknown suspect shot the man in the 28600 block of 25th Place South, a residential area behind the Villa Capri apartments. She said the shooting occurred after "some type of altercation between the victim and suspect." Comment?

Elusive bicyclist captured : At 4:22 a.m. on June 20 in the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South, a man attempted to elude police trying to stop him after making multiple bicycle violations. When he was apprehended, police found that the man had a warrant for his arrest out of Auburn and was booked into SCORE jail. Comment?

Grandson pushes grandma into walls : At 8:24 a.m. on June 13 in the 2200 block of South Star Lake Road, a woman told police her grandson assaulted her by pushing her down the hallway and slamming her into walls and doors. The woman had no visible injuries but said her head, neck, back and arms hurt. Comment?

A convicted felon with a long "history [of] violent crime" was apprehended in Federal Way on Friday on a $500,000 outstanding warrant. The Seattle Police Department arrested Amrico Flight, 26, utilizing 40 to 50 officers, including detectives, SWAT team officers, two K9s, a helicopter and FBI agents. Comment?

Drunk man sleeps in front of restaurant : At 5 p.m. on June 6 in the 16300 block of South 312th Street, a witness reported a man asleep in front of a restaurant. Police found the man unconscious and smelling of alcohol. Comment?
