Charged with 3rd dui for the second time in my life. Iowa state. What can I expect
I was charged with 3rd dui in Iowa. This is the second time it is happening in my life. I was charged with 3rd dui the first time few years ago. I’m still on probation that was revoked by judge right now.
You should expect a trip to prison in your near future.
Does a person arrested before July 1st required to install a toxilock machine in their car?
I'd heard that as of July 1st, that 1st DUI offenders would now also be required to install the toxilock in their car. My DUI occurred in April. Wouldn't whatever law was in place in April be the required law to be followed?
It appears that Iowa new ignition interlock law relates to the date of the conviction, not the date of the arrest.
How much time can my friend possibly face for a "revocation of probation" charge. He's supposed to go to court for this in Augus
My friend has been on probation for assaulting his girlfriend with a deadly weapon for maybe about a year and a half now. Since then he was picked up for burgulary but the courts let him go with some fines and classes (i believe) since then he has been arrested multiple times for driving wgile barred. And his latest was driving while barred w/ controlled substance. (He also eluded the police, but i guess he's not being charged with that). So now he has court in august for "revocation of probation" for the burgulary they once let him walk free for. What is he facing?
It depends on the level of the offense to which he pleaded guilty and how much jail or prison was suspended. Burglary...
I took a non emergency transport service to a dr apointment and had a horrifying expierience can I do anything?
I was supposed to be picked up and taken to a Dr apointment by non emergency transport. The guy was an hour early and called me and told me he was outside, I asked why he was early and he started getting an attitude right away, I told him I was calling his supervisor and he said here you want to talk to him here he is! And reached back taking his eyes off the road and handed me the phone I tried to talk to his supervisor and was put on hold he was using his phone for gps so he was not paying attention to where he was going and kept yelling over me while I was trying to talk to his supervisor eventually I became so uncomfortable with this guy I called the police and was asking for his name and kind of car it was he would not tell me even when I called 911 and the dispatcher asked for his name and make of car he would not tell me I felt like he was holding me against my will I have mental health problems and starting having panic attacks and he was triggering my PTSD finally the dispatcher got him to pull over and the police defused the situation but since then I've been iratated having panic attacks and worsening PTSD it was traumatizing the company just said sorry we'll talk to him
Yes, don't use that transport service again. Sometimes people are idiots; it doesn't constitute grounds for a lawsuit.
What would happen if I avoided my court date from a different state for my failure to pay my DUI fine fully?
I got a DUI (or OWI) in IA a year ago. I had to pay around $1,200 and take DUI classes but have not taken the classes nor fully paid the fine(paid some) Received a letter through the mail with a court date for failure to complete. What would happen if I skipped it? (I live in MN) also what would happen if I just showed up on my own (no attorney with me)...jail time? Probation? Would they give me more time to complete? Thanks.
If you do not appear for that court hearing, a warrant could be issued for your arrest.
Ignition interlock device for a drug-related charge. why?
the D.O.T. says in order to get my license back I need to have an ignition interlock device installed in my vehicle. Last I knew, this device doesn't check for drugs, only alcohol. So then why am I being made to install and pay for this device? It is all about the money, isn't it?
If you had a OWI that was for a drug other than alcohol, the DOT regulations require an ignition interlock device. We...
Is 2 years supervised probation and 14 days in jail excessive for a first offense OWI?
I haven't been in trouble in over 10 years and got my first offense OWI back in December. The court has given me 2 years of supervised probation and wants me to serve 14 days in jail. This seems pretty excessive given my first offense. Please help!
It sounds like it is time for you to get an attorney involved. Without knowing your history or the details of your...
