A pregnant Elgin hairdresser, who is due to give birth in November, must surrender to DuPage County jail officials on Feb. 11, 2016, as part of a plea deal she agreed to Friday. A 26-year-old homeless woman was on probation for a felony arson offense from December 2014 when she was charged with setting a fire that damaged air conditioning unit and stairwell in early August in downtown Elgin, records show. Evanston police are investigating an incident in which two men - one 51-year-old resident of Elgin and the other a 35-year-old Evanston resident - were shot by two men just before 4 p.m. as they were standing near a vehicle in a driveway with other individuals. The incident marks the second shooting in Evanston in as many days where a victim or victims were struck. Comment?
