Did the actions of a Duncannon man result in the death of his daughter or was he just attempting to protect his family? That is a question a jury in Lycoming County will have to answer Friday when it deliberates whether Donald Meyer Jr., 60, is guilty of third-degree murder and other counts. Meyer did not fire the shot that killed his daughter Ciara, 12, on Jan. 11, 2016, but Perry County District Attorney Andrew Bender told jurors: "If he doesn't pull a gun Ciara is with us today."
