Officers with the Douglasville Police Department arrested a man Thursday who they say was fleeing authorities after shoplifting at Arbor Place Mall and carjacked a man at knifepoint in his attempt to get away. Roscoe Kitts, 28, of Knoxville, Tennessee, was charged with armed robbery and fleeing and attempting to elude. Comment?

An 18-year-old is in custody on child molestation charges in connection to incidents police say took place last year at a local church. Douglasville police arrested James Buckner, of Douglasville, on Friday, Jan. 22. Buckner is charged with two counts of child molestation and one count of false imprisonment. Comment?

According to police, the incidents occurred in November and December of 2015 at Crosswords Church of Douglasville. Police said Buckner was serving in a volunteer position when he came into contact with a 10-year-old victim and other children in the same age group. Comment?
