    Police say the gun used just over a week ago in the fatal shooting of a Dighton teenager belongs to a Taunton man who failed to report it missing at least eight months ago. The East Taunton man, police said, as of last Friday also had 13 other guns, all of them legally owned, either in his house or that of his grandfather.

    Authorities searching for the weapon used to kill a teenager in Dighton Tuesday night have found a gun in a large wooded area near the victim's home, the Bristol district attorney's office said Friday. Joseph Medeiros, 18, of Rehoboth is charged with involuntary manslaughter, carrying an illegal firearm, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, in the shooting death of his friend, 17-year-old Michael Pacheco, while they were with a group of friends at Pacheco's home.

    An 18-year-old Rehoboth man was playing with a gun and accidentally shot his 17-year-old friend in the chest Tuesday night while they were hanging out with a group of friends, prosecutors said during his arraignment Wednesday morning at Taunton District Court. Prosecutors said Joseph Medeiros was at the Dighton home of his friend, 17-year-old Michael Pacheco, and while Medeiros was sitting at a kitchen table playing with a Glock 9, the weapon fired and fatally wounded Pacheco.

    DIGHTON, M.A. Police have arrested an 18-year-old Rehoboth man for the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Michael Pacheco. Medeiros will be arraigned in Taunton District Court on Wednesday.

    A Rehoboth teen has been charged with involuntary manslaughter for last night's fatal shooting of another youth in the victim's North Dighton home. Bristol District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III's office said Joseph Medeiros, 18, will be arraigned this morning in Taunton District Court on charges of involuntary manslaughter, carrying an illegal firearm and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Michael Pacheco.

    An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of another teenager inside a Massachusetts home. Bristol District Attorney Thomas Quinn III says Joseph Medeiros, of Rehoboth, was arrested early Wednesday and charged with involuntary manslaughter, carrying an illegal firearm and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
