An infographic compiled using data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Uniform Crime Reporting shows that Detroit isn't as plagued by car theft as other "more attractive" major cities. According to 2016 data , metropolitan Detroit ranked eighth for most vehicle thefts in the nation with a total of 11,746.

Edmund Gilliam is accused of threatening Nia and WXYZ photojournalist Mike Krotche and striking the news van, smashing the window and driver's side window.

"As the victim attempt to take the weapon from the suspect, the victim was shot," Detroit police say.
