    Oct 28, 2016 | via Bellingham Herald

A Custer man in the Whatcom County Jail offered another inmate $25,000 to kill a woman by making her overdose on potent drugs, according to attempted murder charges filed Thursday, Oct. 27. Kurt Joseph Ebe, 60, has been in jail for three months on charges of assaulting a woman, 54, when he accused her of stealing a rug that had sentimental value to him in July. He poured gasoline on a tent she'd been staying in, and lit a match, at his property in the 2300 block of Birch Bay-Lynden Road, according to charging papers.

What are the odds of a court dismissing my case?
I was involved in a serious car accident nearly 22 mo ago, as a result of driving impaired. I was 22 at the time, suffered extensive injuries ( multiple fractures, limited mobility for a few months, 3 weeks in the hospital), but am now essentially good-as-new. At the time of the accident, a blood draw was taken at the scene (I was unconscious), and the next day an officer called the hosptital wanting to speak with me, but could not as I was still unconscious. I never heard anything more from authorities until a week ago, when I received a summons in the mail (from a district court in Skagit county, WA). My court date is in a week and I'm not sure what I should do to prepare. It's been suggested that I bring a photo of myself taken right after the accident as well as the list of all injures I had sustained, in hopes that the court might decide that I've learned my lesson and drop the charges, coupled with how long it's been since the accident, but I'm not convinced that it works like that. The accident involved only me and my car, property damage was limited to a fence. What can I do to prepare for the initial (I assume) court date? And why would they wait so long to prosecute?

How do I know if I will be extradited for a DUI warrant out of Whatcom County. And how far will they extradite if they do
I have two pending DUI . The first one I did my administrative 90-day suspension and got my license back the second one I hired an attorney and beat the administrative two-year suspension. But now I missed court on accident and have a warrant out for both cases because neither were resolved yet. Last disposition was to plead guilty to DUI on count 1 and neg one on the second charge. But as of right now I have my license clear and seems like as long as I don't go to court and plead guilty to anything nobody can affect my license. If I were to move say two counties away to Snohomish County or King County or possibly to California would they be able to extradite me from any of those places and could I potentially just keep my license if I never resolve the case? And avoid having to do any jail time I was looking at doing 30 to 90 days for each charge
You will find that by missing court you will receive a bench warrant on the two cases and that will suspended your...
Can a DUI case be transferred to a nearby jurisdiction in order to appear in Veterans court?
A close family member who is a veteran with documented PTSD received a DUI on veterans day. He has no prior run ins with the law, is attending college for an accounting degree, and his income is limited. He went to an event with friends to remember fallen brothers, got emotional drank too much, blacked out and ended up driving (despite having a ride home). He got a DUI before he could drive a few blocks. He didn't refuse to blow and he blew a .2 and then spent the night in jail. Being that he has PTSD and hasn't received adequate help from the VA and it probably led up to this, does it play a role in his defense? He lives in Whatcom county where is being charged however, there isn't veterans court there. Can he get his case transferred to another jurisdiction where there is a veterans court? We are desperate to find him options/support and affordable ones at that.
This vet needs a lawyer; help him by getting him to a lawyer to look into this possibility, which seems slim. A lawyer...
