How long after a car accident can I be changed with a DUI?
I had a car accident exactly a month ago am worried I am going to charged with an OUI? I had two drinks and was driving home. I briefly went in the other lane while a car (cop) was coming and I overcorrected and crashed into a tree. I was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. A cop came to the hospital and took my blood for an alcohol test. He said he would contact me in a week about the results. It has been over a month and am wondering if I should still be worried about getting an OUI. How long do the cops have to charge me with a DUI?
You can always call and ask them.
Can I get charged an oui for driving on my own private property?
Police came to our house on an unrelated issue, I got arrested for oui while moving my truck from the side yard.
While I cannot speak for Maine law, most states have now defined DUI offenses in such a way that a person can be cited...
I banged up a truck, blew a .05, and got driving to endanger, but I'm underaged. At court will i get an OUI?
I was driving and turned to quickly and ran into a post. The cops came and took me to the station to get breathalyzed. I blew a .05 and he wrote on my summons driving to endanger. My friends tell me that ill still get an OUI.
The fact that you are under age 21 makes no difference for purposes of the OUI statute, which requires proof that any...
I was charged with OUI for my legal prescription drugs (not narcotics). Is it possible to drop this to Reckless Driving?
I also received a summons for endangering the welfare of a child, because I had my newborn son in the car with me when I was arrested for the OUI. And finally, I received a third summons for leaving the scene of an accident. Let me just clarify--the OUI charge is not from alcohol or illegal drugs, but from on of my prescription medications that I had taken, I took both my morning dose together with my evening dose because I was worried what might happen if I missed a dose. I'm just wondering if this charge can be dropped down to a reckless driving charge? They won't provide me with a court-appointed attorney here because I make too much money $19K. But I need to know if there's any way around that OUI charge. And can I try to make a plea bargain with the D.A. without a lawyer?
Your best course of action contact a local attorney, either by email or phone, who will protect you and your rights....
If you take a breath test and pass and then refuse a drug urine test is that the same as a refusal in Maine
Took a breath test and passed later at police station I was asked to take a urine test at which time I asked I was required to take it and I asked a couple of other questions at that point the officer walked out said too late. Does this mean I refused it?
They will probably say that you refused. You should get an attorney if you were charged with a DUI offense.
Can i be extradited on a dui (prescription drugs)
I got arressted for dui..influence was prescrption drugs. This tripped my ptsd because of being frisked by a male cop in Massachusetts, I was admitted, voluntarily, to a mental ward in Massachusetts for 7 days, not court ordered. Hospital personna el told me i would be better off in my home state. I have my hosp records to collaborate this. Now, at age 62, massachusetts has issued a warrant for my arrest.
It is not likely they will extradite you for the OUI, unless it has been charged as a Felony. What will happen if you...
Should I call the hospital?
I was involved in a single vehicle accident, I was unconscious and emergency personnel didn't arrive for 4.5 hours I had been drinking that night and was instantly taken in an ambulance nothing was ever said about arrests or charges and the cops didn't come to the hospital, I know the hospital took blood. Would I have been notified if I was being charged or investigated for a dui it's been about a week. Should I call and ask what my blood alcohol level results were?
It may take a couple months before your results are in, and you are arrested, so get a local criminal lawyer on deck.
