    BURGLARY: There was a report of items missing from inside a residence on the 700 block of South Street that went missing sometime between 1 p.m. on July 1 and 6 a.m. on July 2. DRUG OFFENSE: Christopher D. Ridenour, 33, of Piqua, was charged with fifth-degree felony drug possession and first-degree misdemeanor possession of drug abuse instrument on July 2. THEFT: The city of Piqua reported that a meter was broken and electricity was stolen on the 600 block of West North Street on July 2 at 10:20 a.m. Newell F. Williams, Jr., 34, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft and second-degree misdemeanor criminal damaging in connection with this incident.

  • Troy man sentenced to jail for tampering, menacing c...

    A Troy man was sentenced to jail time this week for waving what appeared to be a gun outside of a car window and then later tampering with evidence in May. Troy police officers responded on May 6 to a report of a male subject pointing a gun at somebody on the 500 block of Crescent Drive. Witnesses reported that the male subject did not point the gun - which was later found to be a pellet gun - directly at anyone, but he waved it around outside of a car window for approximately 30 seconds before driving away.

  • Two sentenced for unsupervised child -

    Two Piqua residents were sentenced to probation and found guilty of amended charges this week after a toddler was reportedly unsupervised and defecating in a yard on April 14. Police responded to South Roosevelt Avenue in Piqua on a report of a toddler under the age of 5 playing in the yard by himself, according to Miami County Municipal Court records. Police reportedly found feces and a child's underwear in a backyard.
