A Lansford man pleaded guilty on Carbon County court this week to an assault incident involving a doctor at an area hospital where he was taken following his arrest for a disturbance at his residence. Neil Kennedy, 58, pleaded to one count each of simple assault and resisting arrest for an incident on Nov. 8, 2015, at 124 W. Ridge St. According to an affidavit of probable cause, officers Joshua Tom and Thomas Fort were on duty when Daniel Kennedy walked into the police station, bleeding from his nose and mouth, and with red marks on his face. A man who earlier this year admitted his role in the killing of a 24-year-old Marine has been sentenced to a lengthy jail term. Oliver Luis Trizarri, 22, formerly of Reading, was sentenced to 15-30 years in prison on Monday, for his role in the January 2014 murder of Coaldale resident Corey Samuels. Comment?

The trial of a Schuylkill County man accused of killing a Marine more than two years ago has come to an end. Stanley Kralik has been found guilty on charges of third degree murder, conspiracy, aggravated assault as well as robbery and theft. Comment?

Jurors have convicted an eastern Pennsylvania man of third-degree murder in the death of a former Marine who authorities say was killed in revenge for an alleged sexual assault. The Schuylkill County panel deliberated for less than two hours Wednesday before convicting 18-year-old Stanley Kralik of Coaldale of the charge along with conspiracy, aggravated assault, robbery and theft. Corey M. Samuels suffered a crushed jaw, broken nose and stab wounds in the back of his skull as he died in the snow on the night of Jan, 20, 2014, in the woods at the end of Miner Street in Coaldale. Later that month, then 16-year-old Stanley E. Kralik told a classmate he killed Samuels, 24, according to testimony on the opening day of Kralik's murder trial in Schuylkill County court Monday. Comment?
