A Cleveland Heights woman found a screwdriver in her car that somebody had damaged while trying to steal it. Attempted car theft, North Taylor Road: At 12:02 p.m. Oct. 3, a woman reported that someone tried to steal her car, damaging the ignition and steering column in the process. Comment?

City Council voted Monday to move $5,000 in federal Community Development Block Grants out of a line item for a Future Heights mini-grant program and into the organization's staffing budget. But the mini-grant program will continue, with the pot of money increased to $7,500 and four proposals in the pipeline, said Sruti Basu, the non-profit's new director of Community-Building Programs.
