I'm required to have an interlock installed on my vehicle (recent DUI charge). I'm leaving the country in a couple months.
I was charged with DUI on 6/22/2016. I'm required to install interlock and buy SR22 insurance. I'm leaving the country for a job overseas next month (although I may have to postpone to fulfill community service if its required). If I'm overseas for a couple years and return, will I need to have SR22 and install an interlock to get my license in Colorado? Its a two year Interlock commitment . What if I'm gone more than 2 years and what is the statute of limitations? Thanks!
You are typically under no obligation to install the interlock device if you have no intention of driving. It is not...

The interlock and SR22 insurance are probably not part of your sentence. They are conditions required if you want to...
I was cited for DUI on 6/22/2016. I'm wondering if a have an extunating circumstances defense and the best interlock company.
I was at home when my friend/girlfriend texted me (and I've saved the text) at midnight that she had just swallowed a bunch of pills and didn't want to live any more. I knew where she lived but not the address. I called her, no answer, so then drove to her house, knocked on her door...no answer. I then called 911. Long story short, the police asked if I had been drinking that night, and I admitted that I had while at home and had driven. (Why oh why didn't I say I took a cab)?! I was arrested for DUI. My friend was OK by the way. My BAC was .19, so I'm required to have an interlock device for 2 years. Any advice? I'm also looking for the best deal on interlock in Colorado. Thank you!
No, what you described is not a legal defense. (Forget the statement you made. Why didn't you ACTUALLY take a cab...
Does a + reading of THC from the umbilical cord of my baby give CPS prob. cause to enter my home w/o a warrant or court order?
My Doctor gave me the ok to use marijuana sparingly for sleep during pregnancy although he did not write me a script and when I asked he told me there would be not testing at birth. Now I know that the hospital does test the umbilical cord after birth if they believe drugs or alcohol were used during pregnancy and if they get a positive result the are required to contact CSP. I thought because my doctor gave me the ok it wouldn't be a problem. But now CPS has contacted me to set up a well child assessment.
You need to speak with a dependency attorney immediately.
Interlock statute of limitations
If I'm required to have interlock for 2 years and am out of the country, should I just keep it installed in my vehicle (if I still own it) and have someone to drive it to get the test done while paying the monthly rate? (Even if I'm not driving at all during this period). I think the answer is yes, but we'll see. Or do I wait until I return and have interlock re-installed? Is there a statute of limitations, or do I have to have an interlock for 2 years even if it's many years from now? Thanks.
" and have someone to drive it " Isn't that fraudulent? If you do not have it for 2 years, as required, you never...
2 year interlock requirement, leaving the country in a couple months.
I was arrested for DUI in May 2016 in Colorado and will be required to have an interlock device installed for two years in order to have my unrestricted license reinstated. I'm leaving the country in a couple months (provided I fulfill community service and probation requirements). My assumption is I will need to resume interlock when I return to the US, even if its been over 2 years since driving. Is this so?
You did ask it in a different way without the fraudulent suggestion in another post. Yes, you would have to resume the...
Do I need to get a lawyer, or will it be cheaper to take the DUI?
I recently got a DUI, I am under 21 years old and had a beer and a sip of a mixed drink at a club. Two hours later I drove a friend home who had too much to drink, and got pulled over for failure to dim brights. I didn't refuse anything and cooperated with it all and got taken to the station for a breathalyzer, I blew a .116 which was a lot higher than I thought. I had taken NyQuil that night from a cold and didn't know it had that effect. But I didn't know it had an effect till the next day so I couldn't tell the officer about it.
Alcohol related driving charges are serious in nature and can have a lasting impact on your life. For that reason, I...
