An ordinary traffic stop on the highway led to the discovery of an unregistered gun and dozens of rounds of ammunition, state police say. Two men from Holyoke were arrested by state troopers during a traffic stop in Chicopee, in which four different kinds of drugs were allegedly found. According to a news release from State Police Media Relations, troopers arrested Branden Fournier , 20, and Steven Lovely , 40, during the stop on Interstate 391 northbound shortly after noontime Monday. An insanity defense is planned in the case of a Lunenburg woman accused of attacking her live-in boyfriend with an ax as he slept. Rhonda Ravanis, 48, formerly of 140 S. Row Road, Lunenburg, was arrested April 23 after she allegedly struck 53-year-old Robert J. A retired East Windsor police officer is being investigated in connection with allegations he asked "law enforcement friends" to kill a Chicopee, Massachusetts, man accused of posting a Facebook comment threatening police.
