    August 17, 2016 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a man who shot and killed another man in North Amityville this afternoon. Rashad Woolridge, 28, of North Amityville, was found dead from a gunshot wound in his residence at approximately 12:40 p.m. After a thorough investigation, Tephonte Smith, 18, of the same address, was arrested by Homicide Squad detectives and charged with Murder 2nd Degree.

  • Ex-burglary crew leader sentenced

    A former leader of a Long Island burglary crew that stole more than $8 million from businesses and homes was sentenced at the U.S. District Court in Central Islip Wednesday, authorities said. Nikitas Margiellos, of West Babylon, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, three years supervised release and ordered to pay $1.7 million in restitution, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Can I get permission to remove an interlock device early?
Arrested on a dwi august 15, 2015, did not refuse test, charged with a 0.15. First time arrest for anything. Sentenced January 19, 2016 to 1 yr conditional discharge & 1 yr interlock device. Underage possession of alcohol in trunk?
I am 18 years old and got pulled over for speeding in upstate NY earlier this week. The police searched my car because of suspicion when they found a marijuana pipe, and when they searched my trunk they found two almost empty bottles of liquor that have been sitting there for months on end. They gave me a court appearance for it and stated I violated the penalty of 65-c. I did research and found out that this law includes "with intent to consume". What exactly does that mean? Would the alcohol being in my trunk be able to fight that since it wasn't actually intended to consume and out of reach?
