An Alliance man and four other area residents were arrested this weekend after a brawl ensued at a downtown liquor establishment. City police responded around 11:45 p.m. Saturday to the Cantell Elks, 735 Ash St., for a large fight, which resulted in assault and riot charges against Kentasha J. Dixon, 39, of 683 S. Freedom Ave.; Alani Jamila Watlkins, 28, of Akron; Robert C. Thomas, 40, of 755 S. Seneca Ave.; and Julia Shartia Gray, 29, of Canton. Comment?

Alliance Municipal Court Judge Andrew L. Zumbar issued harsher penalties against Carlton D. Carroll after the defendant was found to have violated several conditions. Carroll, 26, was arrested in April for an alleged assault on a female victim who had to escape the upstairs of a South Linden Avenue residence to call 911. Comment?

Police were advised by multiple people at the Fireman's Festival at 5:58 p.m. of a male and a juvenile fighting in the parking lot at 205 E. Ohio Ave. When the officer arrived on the scene, he saw a male and female backing a truck out of the parking lot and four juveniles sitting in a vehicle beside the truck. The officer told the man in the truck to stop and identified the man, who had a large red mark under his left eye. Comment?

On Saturday, May 28, Jackson Township Police arrested a man they say is suspected of an aggravated burglary and attempted rape which occurred during a home invasion on May 23. Authorities identified Dimitrius Shawn Laury as a person connected to a home burglary in the 7600 block of Aramis Street NW, where an elderly woman was also assaulted. Comment?

On Sunday, March 15, at 12:07 a.m., Canton Police responded to the 1400 block of Ohio Ave. N.E. for what they refer to as a shooting casualty. When officers arrived on scene they found a man, identified as 32-year-old Kristopher W. Mayle and the family dog dead. Comment?
