Since the 1950s, the YMCA has encouraged fathers to bond with their children through the Adventure Guides and Princesses program. The purpose is to get dads to switch off from an increasingly busy world and intentionally set aside time to make memories with their kids during their formative years.

How can I pay overdue court fines without jail time?
When I was originally given the fine I was unable to pay the funds. It has been a couple of years I now have the funds and wish to get my drivers license reinstated. Can I do so without jail time?
Yes, you can probably just pay off what you owe without going to jail. While it is possible that a warrant for your...
My question is can I fight that the breathalyzer was tampered with from the start and fight the results of my test in court?
I was pulled over for speeding the trooper said he smelt alcohol and told me to get out of the car. I did the tests and blew in the breathalyzer and was arrested. I went to the station where they wanted me to blow into the machine I tried two times to blow but it would read anything. The sherriff that was in the room asked to speak to the trooper outside when they came back inside. The trooper pulled the machine apart and removed a rolled up magazine page from the hose that was attached to the breathalyzer and said ok you can blow now. I blew a .09.
It might be possible to fight this, but you would be ill advised to attempt to do so without an attorney. Use Avvo's...
I was curious if it was possible to get a DUI expunged and/or removed from my criminal and driving record? Thank you!
I got arrested in Pender County, North Carolina when I was 21 while stationed in Camp Lejuene serving on active duty. This was over 10 years ago. The police officer asked me to take a breathalyzer test. I blew two twice, frustrated with the results because he didn't get a high enough BAC level. So he decided to haul me down to the station to take the test there. I tested twice more on a larger machine in which he still had not got the outcome I guess he wanted. He then yelled at me and told to stop trying to cheat the machine cause the readings weren't strong enough for him (which I still have the actual results for from that night.) At that point I had felt I had done enough to satisfy the law. He asked me to test again. I told him to get lost in one or two other words. At which point he arrested me and charged me with refusal. I had family from out of state bail me out and had to return about a month later for a court date. I showed up in uniform accompanied by my Sergeant. I was young and confused at the time. I did not have any representation and was pretty much advised to plead guilty which I did. Not sure if the judge had mercy on me but I don't remember fines or anything.
You may be potentially eligible for an expunction, but it has nothing to do with why you pled guilty or what happened...
I was curious if it was possible to get a DUI expunged and/or removed from my criminal and driving record?
I got arrested in Pender County, North Carlolina when I was 21 and stationed in Camp Lejuene serving on active duty. This was over 10 years ago. The police officer made me test and blow two times on the side of the road, frustrated with the results he obviously wanted an arrest and didn't get a high enough BAC level. So he decided to haul me down to the station to take the test there. I tested once there he yelled at me and told to stop trying to cheat the machine cause the readings weren't strong enough for him. At that point I had felt I had done enough to satisfy the law. He asked me to test again. I told him to get lost in one or two other words. And said I wanted to see an attorney. At which point he arrested me and charged me with refusal.
Were you charged in federal or state court? And did you go to court? What was the outcome- were you found guilty? Were...
Can a person be legally sentenced to 24-48 months in North Carolina for a habitual dwi?
My husband is a convicted felon who was charged with a dwi last year and the DA just decided to bump it up from a misdemeanor to a felony 8 months later. Is that possible when the state trooper and the magistrate decided at the time of arrest that he didn't qualify to be habitual?
trooper is not a lawyer and his or her opinion isn't worth a bag of generic microwave popcorn. In fact, members of law...
Can I be convicted Of dui On a private road?
I was charged with DUI in N.C. by a st trooper. i blew a .10. The road is my Father -in-laws dirt road. the green road sign has the initials pvt in yellow on the top left corner and Crystal Ct.(his daughters name) the road is not state maintained and he pays taxes on this road. I have court on the20th of oct.2009 any help would be greatly appreciated. the trooper has initials pva(public vehicle area) on his ticket but the pictures I have show pvt(private).
According to North Carolina law, this appears to be a defense to DUI. Public vehicular area seems to be defined an...
What are my best options on a third dui?
I'm a single mom who last night for arrested for my third dui. The previous two were 10-12 years ago. Last night I blew a.13 at the jail and was also ticketed for 83 in a 60. They let me sign myself out with no bond. I've come to the realization I have a very serious problem with alcohol. I never drink around my child but I realize that doesn't change my problem. I do plan on completing an assessment and classes before my court date. I also plan to attend aa regularly. What are my best options for defense? I'm extremely worried about jail time because of my child and I'm worried about losing my three jobs. I don't really have money for an attorney and I'm wondering if a public defender is a viable option in this case? I know I did something wrong and I'm trying to figure out how to best fix this. I also have no support system to help me out. Thank you.
Best option for your DWI charge is to get a lawyer or apply fur a public defender. Public defenders are great lawyers...
