    The Fairfield Police Department says it has arrested a 24-year-old Bridgeport man for the May 20 robbery of Fairfield's Webster Bank. In an interesting twist, authorities say he used the money to pay for his wedding -- which was later that day.

    Officers arrested a Bridgeport woman for placing beer and energy drinks into her cart and leaving Stop & Shop at 1790 Post Road East without paying, police said today. Nickie Thompson, 36, was arrested on an active warrant Tuesday at the Milford Police Department, where she was being held on other charges, according to the arrest report.

    Two Bridgeport brothers have been arrested in connection with the heroin overdose death of a Monroe man and a non-fatal heroin overdose in Bridgeport. The two men, Erick Delgado, 39, and Anoris "Alex" Delgado, 28, were each charged with federal heroin distribution charges as part of an ongoing statewide effort targeting narcotics dealers who distribute heroin, fentanyl or opioids that cause death or serious injury to users, said Deirdre M. Daly, U.S. Attorney for Connecticut, and Michael J. Ferguson, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration for New England.

  • Police: Man arrested for negligent homicide of woman

    Bridgeport police announced today that they've filed criminal charges against the man who hit and killed a local woman with his car earlier this year. Friends and family of 31-year-old Sandra Vilsaint tell News12 Connecticut that they are grateful police arrested 26-year-old Jerry Goncalves in connection with her Feb. 10 death.

    Fairfield Police are asking for the public's help in finding a woman believed to have stolen a wallet from a car parked in Southport and used credit cards at several businesses in Bridgeport on June 8, police said Tuesday. The police department released two photos of the suspect, a white woman believed to be in her 20s with brown hair, who was wearing blue jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt when she was caught on surveillance video, police said.

    Gun violence is a big problem - just not one for the courts to address, lawyers for Remington firearms and gun sellers argued Monday in a case brought by the families of Newtown victims. During a pre-trial hearing pitting the 10 plaintiffs against the maker of the assault-style rifle used in the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary, Remington lawyer James Vogts said the company, distributor and store that sold the gun in 2010 had all operated within the law.

    A fight broke out Friday morning outside the Main Street courthouse in Bridgeport, resulting in the arrests of at least six people, according to the Connecticut Post. Many were injured as dozens of people attacked each other with bats and torque wrenches while others stomped on cars after the sentencing was announced in slaying, according to the Post.

"I am writing to you because the institution that you head has facilitated financing to the manufacturer of the assault rifle that the Orlando shooter is reported to have used inside the club," states Public Advocate Letitia James in a letter sent to the banks.

Ok so this gets a little complicated so bare with me throughout my story: so on thanksgiving morning at around 12am last year ('09) i was driving my 2005 Chrysler Crossfire north on the Post rd northbound when I saw a DUI checkpoint for the south bound motorists and was suddenly smashed head into an unmanned police cruiser.
