A Syrian human-rights activist presented the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum's research and preservation center on Tuesday with scraps of cloth that fellow prisoners had written their names on while using a chicken bone as a quill and blood from their own gums as ink. Mansour Omari, who spent nearly a year in captivity, said he hoped museum officials would preserve the 82 names as evidence and, through displaying the items, raise awareness among visitors to the Washington museum about the Syrian civil war, now in its seventh year.

Do I need to go with a lawyer on my next court date after telling the judge that I need an attorney to represent me ?
I have a case in court because I drove with my out of country drivers licence. I appeared in court but a friend advised I requested for attorney to represent me so that I could buy myself some time to convert my out of country licence to Maryland license. Court date is next week and I'm still not able to get my licence. What can I do ?
Chances are the court will not give you another postponement for the same reason. An experienced criminal defense...
Question about a DUI hearing that took over 18 months to be scheduled
IIn January 2013 I got a DUI and blew over .2. I requested an MVA hearing, immediately went to in patient treatment for 30 days followed by intensive outpatient for 3 months. I have remained sober, my PBJ will be complete 2 weeks. My license was not suspended. The MVA has just scheduled a hearing for me after a year and a half. I have been sober and without incident driving for this entire time. What can I expect after a year and a half has gone by? Is it possible to have my license suspended? Will they still order 12 months with the interlock? It seems that it has been such a long time to justify either punishment. Is there any room for the judge to make another decision?”
I have not heard of it taking 18 months to get an MVA hearing for .15 or above. This must be a record. The hearing...

I have a bench warrant and don't want to spend a night in jail but can pay the fine is possible
I was driving with a suspended license that I didn't know was suspended at the time I got a trial date but I stay with my girlfriend most of the time so I didn't get the letter in time so I missed court date and got a "bench warrant for my arrest for failing to appear to court while driving on a suspended license." I want to turn myself in but I'd rather not have a jail record or even go for that matter.
You have a few options which can best be discussed with an experienced criminal defense attorney. Good luck.
What if I blow a fail in the ignition interlock and I'm on unsupervised probation. What's the ramification for that fail blow?
I had a drink the night before and blew a fail the next morning.
It depends whether anything is reported back to the judge and the nature of the terms and conditions of probation. If...
I got charged with DWI (BAC 0.10) resulted in DWAI(Traffic Infraction) but what it is in Maryland?
Hi Lawyers, Thanks for this service. I hold Maryland Driving License, got charged with DWI (BAC 0.10) in New York in September 2016 but court reduced it to DWAI (Which is Traffic Infraction but not Criminal) with 90 days suspension, some fines and victim impact panel. I still see no record on my Marylands driving license even after six months. I called MVA several times and they said my license is still active and good to drive. Can I expect anything in future now all of a sudden? I always worry when I drive on roads thinking cops have some record which is not with MVA. Because driving without license will be a felony and I don't wanna attempt it. PLEASE ADVICE. Thanks a lot
DWAI appears to stand for driving while ability impaired and the conviction could eventually appear on your Maryland...
