    A local woman and a Florida man were arrested on auto theft and other charges last weekend after an automated license plate reader picked up the allegedly stolen vehicle's tags coming across the Route 90 bridge. Around 10:15 p.m. last Thursday, an Ocean City Police Department officer on patrol received a notification from the LPR system that a potentially stolen vehicle was entering the resort from eastbound Route 90. The officer responded to the area and located a vehicle with Florida tags matching the information provided by the LPR at the red light at the foot of the Route 90 bridge.

    An independent investigation into the death of University of Maryland football player Jordan McNair has determined that trainers on the scene did not follow proper procedures after he collapsed on the field. McNair was hospitalized on May 29 after a team workout and died June 13. The family attorney said the cause of death was heatstroke.

    The Worcester County Sheriff's Office said they arrested a Berlin man on drug charges after finishing a lengthy crack cocaine distribution investigation. Police said that during their investigations, Marcus Adrien Pitts , 46 of Berlin, was found to be a significant source of crack cocaine in the Berlin area.

    A Pennsylvania man was arrested on assault and malicious destruction of property charges last weekend after allegedly throwing a beer mug and rocks at a nearby family and damaging vehicles as he walked in the midtown area. Around 6:30 p.m. last Saturday, an Ocean City Police Department officer responded to the 48th Street area for a reported disorderly male who had been throwing rocks at people.
