    A pediatric dentist with offices in Jersey City and Bayonne has been indicted on charges of punching and threatening to kill her boyfriend's 8-year-old son -- and the boy's father is now charged, too. Marissa E. Halum, of the 100 block of Kensington Avenue in Jersey City, is charged with aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, endangering the welfare of two children and weapons offenses related to a knife, the indictment says.

    A Jersey City police sergeant who struck a man with his SUV in Audubon Park in August has been charged with a fourth-degree assault by auto charge, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced yesterday. Jersey City's public safety director was warned four years ago about potential abuses by cops working off-duty security details at public-housing complexes, according to a letter obtained by The Jersey Journal. 1 comment

    A Bayonne man was sentenced to three years in prison for possession of more than 100 files of child pornography, state Attorney General Christopher S. Porrino announced. Andrew Bann, 31, pleaded guilty on Oct. 23 to two counts of third-degree possession of 100 or more files of child pornography -- one charge related to an arrest in Hudson County.

    The head coach of the Bayonne High School ice hockey team was arrested earlier this month after police say he pointed a handgun in the direction of two people at Korpi Ice Rink last month. David J. McKenna, 38, of Bayonne, was arrested Dec. 12 and charged with a number of weapons offenses that stem from the Nov. 30 incident in which he allegedly gained possession of an assistant coach's handgun and pointed it in the direction of two individuals, police said.
