Bay St. Louis police on Monday arrested a local man in connection with a fatal accident on Avenue B on Aug. 12. According to a press release from BPD Chief Mike De Nardo, Timothy Tucker, 23, of Bay St. Louis was arrested Monday and charged with DUI causing death and reckless driving. About 2 a.m. on Aug. 12, BPD officers responded to an accident on Avenue B. Tucker was driving a small white vehicle which was traveling at a high rate of speed, when he apparently lost control and the car careened off the roadway, struck a house, and flipped several times, officials said. A Bay St. Louis youth leader said this week that he was falsely arrested last week while trying to protect two of the children under his charge. Bay police on Saturday arrested Galen Smith, executive director of the Break of Dawn Youth Enhancement Facility we began to release our youth to their parents for pick up, and those that live across the street in the Bay Pines Complex allowed to walk home," Smith said in the report. Circuit Court Judge Lisa Dodson on Monday denied a motion for a new trial for convicted murderer Glen Davis. Davis, 45, was convicted in August of the 2012 murder of Bay St. Louis resident Maurice Colly. Comment?

A 34-year-old man from Anacoco has been convicted in Lafayette on charges of carjacking and bank robbery, crimes that occurred in July 2013, officials said. A jury found Justin Seawright guilty of brandishing a weapon when he stole a vehicle from a woman in a Lafayette parking lot on July 16, 2013, the Lafayette Parish District Attorney's Office said in a news release Tuesday. A Hancock County woman on Wednesday filed a lawsuit against the Mississippi Department of Human Services, Hancock County DHS and two Hancock DHS employees individually, claiming they falsified documents to "steal" her three children and attempted to alienate them from her. Bay St. Louis attorney Edward Gibson of Hawkins/Gibson, PLLC, filed the suit on behalf of Marie Gill. Comment?
