The volunteer organization has received a grant from the Department of Fish and Wildlife to restore seven important wildlife water sources in the Shadow Mountains-El Mirage area northeast of Adelanto during work projects from November through April. While deputies were responding, officers with the Bakersfield Police Department stopped a vehicle driving erratically in the 600 block of Martin Luther King Blvd. The officers discovered an adult male victim in the vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
