A 24-year-old Aurora man is facing an upgraded felony charge in connection with the shooting death of the man's 25-year-old friend, according to a release from the Aurora Police Department. Adolfo Ramirez, of the 1300 block of Monomoy Street, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of armed violence in connection with the death of Angel G. Reyna, 25, of the 400 block of North View Street in Aurora. Comment?

He had caught a northern pike, and a fisherman across the river told him to throw it back. When he did not, the other fisherman came over, called him a "pike killer," and said if the man returned to the area to fish, he would beat him up, according to police. Comment?

A 24-year-old Aurora man has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance after an apparent drinking and cocaine binge ended in the shooting death of the man's 25-year-old friend, according to a release from the Aurora Police Department . The charge against Adolfo Ramirez, of the 1300 block of Monomoy Street, was secured late Sunday by Aurora police through the Kane County State's Attorney. Comment?

A man was charged with attempted murder Thursday after he allegedly pointed a rifle at Oswego police officers, prompting them to shoot him late last month in the western suburb. Taylor J. Cano, 24, has been charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder, aggravated discharged of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of weapon by a felon, according to a statement from Oswego police. Comment?

A man has been charged with misdemeanor use of a weapon after a group of pro-life protesters who were praying outside of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Aurora, Illinois, claim that he pulled out a gun as he was entering the building. Protesters said that the purported incident unfolded early on Saturday morning, as around 40 pro-life activists were praying across the street from the building. Comment?

A 21-year-old Joliet man has been charged with two counts of armed robbery in connection with an incident at the same party that ended in the fatal shooting of a Plainfield man , according to a release from the Aurora Police Department . An Aurora man plans to appeal his 62-year prison sentenced issued this week for shooting a man in the face at an apartment complex in July 2008, his attorney said. Israel Cano, 35, formerly of the 600 block of High Street, was sentenced Monday by Kane County Judge Susan Clancy Boles after pleading guilty to attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, armed violence, and felony marijuana possession in 2013.
