Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens offers the following information in the case against Kelly Renee Gissendaner, who may begin to be executed at noon on September 29, 2015 for the 1997 murder of her husband Douglas Gissendaner. Scheduled Execution On September 18, 2015, the Superior Court of Gwinnett County filed an order setting the seven-day window in which the execution of Kelly Renee Gissendaner may occur to begin at noon, September 29, 2015, and ending seven days later at noon on October 6, 2015. The retrial for Barrow County man James Lynn, convicted in 2012 of killing his wife, ended Thursday afternoon after the jury found him guilty on all charges. Lynn was found guilty in the initial trial of killing wife Tonya Lynn and hiding her body in a well, but the Georgia Supreme Court ruled late last year that the first-degree murder conviction of James Morris Lynn, Jr. should be thrown out because he was denied the opportunity to have two men testify about extra-marital affairs he claims they had with his wife.
