An Atlanta police officer smashed out the back window of the driver's vehicle with a baton when he was in fear for his life, a report says. An Atlanta man was arrested last month and charged with a laundry list of offenses after leading police on a dangerous chase through Buckhead, an Atlanta police report describes, On July 15, an officer attempted a traffic stop on a red Ford Expedition traveling southbound on Peachtree Road after it was determined the vehicle's registration had expired and the driver had no insurance. Mario Deandre Jackson entered his plea on Friday morning, while Leon Scott pleaded not guilty on July 29. Both have been indicted on robbery, kidnapping and firearms crimes after police tracked a Crime Stoppers tip to Memphis and discovered evidence allegedly linking the men to the May 25 incident. According to prosecutors, police discovered a wedding band allegedly stolen from the Buckhead home at a Memphis pawn shop with a tag linking the item to Scott . Comment?

Two days after the Atlanta Police Department announced the arrest of one suspect in at least one of the three home invasions taking place in Buckhead earlier this year, the U.S. Department of Justice Wednesday announced both he and another suspect have been indicted for the same crimes. The first suspect, Leon Scott, 25, of Memphis, Tenn., was arrested Friday at a motel in Birmingham, Ala., in a joint effort between the Atlanta Police and the FBI. Comment?

A man suspected in a home invasion in which he allegedly forced a victim at gun point to take cash out of an ATM is in federal custody. Leon Scott was taken into custody in Alabama on July 24 and is suspected of taking part in a home invasion at a Buckhead home in May. Scott is charged with breaking into a home on Paces Ridge on May 25, putting towels over the heads of the residents of the home and then kidnapping the father, forcing him at gun point to take money from an ATM.
