I was rear-ended by a drunk driver last night and I am looking for a lawyers advice.
Hello, I was hit by a drunk driver on Sunday night and I am looking for some advice on how to proceed with the situation. I was driving to a shopping mall with my mom on Sunday night when my vehicle started to make a noise. I pulled over to the shoulder of the road to check my vehicle when I was severely rear-ended by a vehicle going at least 50 mph. We were in complete shock but once we collected ourselves together we went to check on the other vehicle. While appoarching the vehicle that hit us we realized that it was empty and that the driver had fled the scene of the accident. Furthermore there were 8-10 beer cans scattered throughout the front compartment. When the police arrived they started to search for the drunk driver. Unfortunately after a 2 hour investigation they were unable to catch him, as of yet. The drivers vehicle is registered in Florida and insured by a small company in wisonsin which is suspicious. Me and my mom weren't seriously injured but we are both pretty beat up and sore. I more worried about my mom because she has health issues. Should we sue? What should we do next?
You and your mom should get medical attention ASAP. Contact a local personal injury attorney in your area for a...

DWI Confusion Doctrine. Asked for a lawyer, but was not allowed to make any phone calls.
I was parked @ a gas station 2am & had gotten back into my car after pumping gas.Cop car pulled in behind me and just sat there.Had issue with my car n knew I would b pulled ovr so I I waited there. Was arrested for DWI (2ND one in 3 yrs) & brought to police station.Officers continuously asked me to submit to breathalyzer.I declined and asked for blood test. Eventually was read some kind of rights from a card that officer had.I was asked if I understood.I said I do not and that I wanted to talk to a lawyer.Officer read the card again.I said I still do not understand and wanted a lawyer and a blood test.Would this be considered a case pertaining to confusion doctrine?I thought I was allowed 2 consult lawyer in deciding what I should do-miranda.Charges:Refusal and DWI.No Chemical tests done.
I've never heard of the "DWI Confussion Doctrine." I believe as the law currently is, you may have a defense on the...

DWI and US Citizenship
I live in New York. I have the following question: In 2006 I have been arrested for smoking marihuana and was sentenced to 1 year probation, after that my record was expunged. In 2010 I was arrested and charged criminal mischief 4th degree (a felony) and DWI. I had a good lawyer and the criminal mischief was dropped, and I did a plea on the DWI for 1 year conditional discharge + some TASC AEP courses and monitoring. I aplied for US citizenship in the meantime. I still havent finished the tasc monitoring and it happens so that my interview will be 1 week before I finish the tasc monitoring. What should I do, and with such a background will I receive US Citizenship?
You have to show good moral character within five years preceding the date of filing your application. With two...
