A woman found in a shallow grave on the city's west side Monday night was beaten to death, according to Thomas Despenzes Jr., an investigator at the Ashtabula County Coroner's Office. Mandy Gottschalk, 36, of Ashtabula, who was reported missing Aug. 15, died of blunt force trauma to the head and trunk, he said. Comment?
