    According to Lt. Col. Mark Lineberry with the Asheboro Police Department, officers responded to the C Store, located at 401 E. Salisbury St., in reference to a man with a gun inside the store.

  • Asheboro suspect sought in Candor shooting

    The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is requesting assistance from the public in locating the suspect of a shooting that took place in Candor Oct. 5. According to Sheriff Chris Watkins, the suspect, Eduardo "Lalo" Jaimes Ramirez, 42, is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Ramirez, whose last known address was 115 Greenvale Road, Asheboro, was at an automotive repair shop on Pratt Drive in the Bell Acres Community with the victim, Vincent Everette, 51, and a third individual Friday, Oct. 5. Everette allegedly returned to the shop a short time later and told the third individual working with them that Ramirez shot him.

  • Woman locks man out of house, assaults police officer

    According to an incident report from the Asheboro Police Department, officers responded to a residence located at 916 Powhatan Ave., Asheboro, in reference to a man having been locked out of his home by a female suspect. Officers were aware that the female in question had an outstanding order for her arrest prior to arriving on scene.

  • Asheboro man assaults bank employee, resists officer

    According to an incident report from the Asheboro Police Department, police responded to the area of Capital Bank, located at 101 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, at approximately 10 a.m. in reference to a citizen's dispute. The officer located the suspect in the lobby, but when the suspect noticed the officer, he reportedly turned and began to jog, leaving the business.

    According to an incident report from the Asheboro Police Department, the victim of the alleged assault, Jocelyn Terry, stated that she received a message from the suspect inviting her to 500 South McCrary Street, Apt. B, Asheboro, around 11 p.m. Saturday.

Mark Lineberry with the Asheboro Police Department, officers responded to 532 Cross Street, Asheboro, in reference to an assault around 10:15 p.m. The victim, Corrina Marie Davidson, 28, of 532 Cross Street, Asheboro, told officers that as she was trying to go outside to smoke a cigarette, her ex-boyfriend grabbed and pulled her by her hair.

  • Asheboro man arrested on assault charges

    According to Lt. Col. Mark Linberry with the Asheboro Police Department, the victim, April Ann Wimmer, 35, of 1925 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, reported to police that she had been assaulted at approximately 6:45 p.m. Wimmer told police she observed a male and a female behind her building and walked outside to see what they were doing.
