A Racine County judge ruled Wednesday that an Arlington Heights man was not legally insane when he attacked and murdered his estranged wife with a hatchet in 2014. A Chicago man charged after he tried to strike two Palatine police officers with a vehicle Thursday night and was subsequently shot by an officer has been ordered held on a $1.25 million bond. A 26-year-old man trying to flee police during a drug investigation was shot in the leg by a Palatine police officer after the man drove his vehicle toward police Thursday night at an apartment complex in the northwest suburb, authorities said. The man drove away but was later apprehended by police, according to a news release from the Palatine Police Department. Comment?
