Alfred Law

I was sentenced 7 days at the Alfred Jail in Maine.
How many days will I actually have to serve? It was for a DUI...
This is a re-posted question from a few days ago. Call a local attorney for this type of specific information.
Can I get charged an oui for driving on my own private property?
Police came to our house on an unrelated issue, I got arrested for oui while moving my truck from the side yard.
While I cannot speak for Maine law, most states have now defined DUI offenses in such a way that a person can be cited...
Can a class C felony be reduced
Can an OUI offense that caused serious bodily injury be reduced to a misdemeanor in the state of Maine and what mitigating factors would help this to be reduced? For a class C Felony can a suspended sentence be applied?
Anything is possible but no one knows what will happen without knowing the facts of the case, the defendant's criminal...
Were my OAS and leaving the scene charges dropped?
Recently I was charged with operating under the influence, leaving the scene of a accident of property damage while my license was suspended (for a unpaid ticket.) The arresting officer gave me my court date for these three charges the day I was arrested. A few days later I received a letter stating the court date was changed and the listed offenses only stated OUI. So I called the court house and the clerk said that the only listed court date was for the OUI and that it was the only offense on record. Could this mean that the other two charges were dropped?
You will not know for sure what the charges are until your arraignment date. The officer does not decide on the charges,...

My son is 19 went to a gentlemens club in Portland and wasnt asked for ID and used his debit card to pay for his beers. He got drunk, left and was pulled over for a DUI... Can we sue the bar for his legal fees?

My wife was involved in an DWI accident with another vehicle, the other driver has "deep tissue" injuries.
The ADA wants to charge her with Felony driving to endanger, dropping the DWI charge, 60 days in Jail, 2 years probation. She has never been in trouble before, gone to a 30 day rehab program that our insurance does not cover & also a 3 week IPO. The DAD doesn't want to budge on a plea deal & seems dead set on a felony conviction. We have a lawyer but I'm not happy with the results so far. Any suggestions to negotiate with the ADA and avoid the felony charges which will follow her the rest of her life?
If you are not happy with your attorney, you need to get a different one. You have the right to retain counsel or have...
On probation for an OUI, did a urine test for alcohol. failed the test.
can the test be successfully challenged? I have read that these test are unreliable, so much so that federal agencies will not use them.
The test can be challenged. Was the urine sent to the HETL lab or just a "dip stick" presumptive test? You really need...
