200-acre Mabton fire left to burn out
The fire started about 6 p.m. Tuesday in the 19000 block of Highway 22 after a controlled burn spread, jumping across the Yakima River and onto land managed by the state Department of Fish and Wildlife, according to Yakima Fire District 5. About 50 firefighters were able to bring the fire under control by midnight.
