Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) sign-up deadline June 14

The deadline to enroll land into the Farm Service Agency's general Conservation Reserve Program signup is Friday, June 14. "Individuals who are interested in signing up should come into our office now," said Julie Vulk, county executive director for the Winneshiek County FSA office.

Decorah Firefighters respond to cooking fire

The Decorah Fire Department responded to a report of smoke coming from a house at 606 E. Broadway at about 3:25 p.m. Wednesday, May 29. When firefighters arrived, Decorah Police officers had already removed a smoking cooking pot from the residence.
