Authorites were about to raid a mobile home in a rural area just outside Bexar County when the trailer's back door flew open and 40 to 50 immigrants suspected of being here illegally ran out, some barefoot and others wearing nothing but underwear as they jumped fences trying to get away.

Officials said immigration authorities had been watching a mobile home there for at least a week.

Wilson County Sheriff Joe D. Tackitt Jr. said an unknown number of suspects fled officers on foot.
