You need to check your facts. The alleged "criminal" was his friend. He has done nothing but cooperate with the police during the investigation. He has always gone in for questioning when asked to do so. The police contacted him for a new address because he had recently moved. The police told him that they needed to mail him paperwork. He complied. Instead, they police raided his new address - busting in the door with guns drawn. The alleged "criminal" was in another unit, saw the commotion and immediately surrendered to the police. Thank goodness no one got hurt or killed by the police. All the police needed to do was contact the alleged "criminal" and inform him that there was a warrant for his arrest and he would have turned himself in to the proper authorities. The police department needs to review its policies and procedures when a suspect has been nothing but cooperative.
