God I hate drunk driver's. That lowlife has nearly ruined a person that may have left this county and done something with her life.

I am so sick and tired of drunk drivers just getting slapped on the wrist and sent on their way. Lets hope the idiot that did this gets put away for an extremely long time. I pray that Ashlyn makes a full recovery and its possible because she has god and this whole county on her side.

She still may! Sometimes, adversity makes a person greater than they would have been. I know several people who have made an incredible impact in the world BECAUSE OF the adversity they had to face.

Right now, she needs healing. A lot of healing. My prayer is for her to continue to recover and gain strength every day, and that God's peace will comfort her and her family through this time. I also pray for forgiveness for the driver of the other car...

I hate that people drive drunk. It's hard for me to say I hate them, though. I feel badly for him, too.

Yeah , Lets keep alchol legal and pot illegal!!!! God knows when you smoke a joint you can drive a car and not have head on collisions, Perfect example of a drug acecepted by society [ alchol ] and it is way worse than pot ever thought about being!!!!!!!!

I heard at church that they have done some surgical procedures to set broken bones. There were MANY broken bones. She was stable yesterday and things seemed more positive than they had previously.

I didn't hear anything about losing her legs.

I'm certainly praying for her recovery.

You are correct. They told the family that she may even walk again in a few years.

Does anyone know if it's true that she had both legs on the dash prior to the crash? That's just what I heard and I don't know where they heard it. My daughter sits like that in the car sometimes but never again!

I hate that it takes something like this for a drunk driver to realize that he really can't drive as good as he thinks when drunk.

My thoughts are with this young girl. I hope she makes a complete recovery and has full use of her legs again.

This young lady has been on my mind since I first read the news. May she fully recover and go on to live a rewarding life full of adventure. My thoughts are with her and her family. I came on here hoping to hear some good news and at this point - she is alive and that is good news!

Ashlyn had surgery on her jaw yesterday and had surgery on her legs on Saturday. She will have many many surgeries but they have to perform small surgeries right now. Please everyone pray for her and her family. My son was in a bad car accident 2 years ago. I thought it was bad but after this I just want to get down on my knees and thank God that I still have him and he is fine now with minor pains. Ashlyn had her whole future ahead of her and she is such a good girl. Ashlyn, I just hope you know that your community will rally around you. We love you.

God this breaks my heart! Drunk drivers do not get the punishment they deserve. Its so sad to see families ripped apart because of a LEGAL drug that is only legal because the government makes so much money from it.
I do not know Ashlyn, my wife does. News like this really rips to the bone if you have children. I have a 3 year old son and GOD stuff like this make me want to just hug him and never let him leave the house.
This is a sad sad world we are living in.
My prayers go out to her every night and also to her family.
Another beautiful innocent victim of Alcohol and all the sorrows it brings with it.
What a shame.
God bless Ashlyn and the Pope family.
We should set up a charity fund here and see how much money we can help raise for her and her family.

She still can go places in life! Just because she is injured badly does not mean she will not recover.

She's doing better today.
