Attorney: Slain couple frustrated over visits with granddaughter
“There's just so many that match that basically it doesn't leave me any doubt that those two bullets were fired from the same gun”
An attorney who helped Donald and Alice Willey gain visitation rights with their granddaughter says the couple continued to have problems with the child's mother, who is accused of plotting to kill them.
Attorney Leslie Johnson Aldrich testified Thursday that the Willeys were granted visitation rights by a judge on Feb. 13, 2007, but still had difficulty seeing the child, now 8, who is Tamara Sorenson's daughter with the Willeys' late son, Andrew.
Sorenson is charged with being an accomplice in the deaths of Donald Willey, 70, and his wife, Alice, 67, whose bodies were found in their burned home near Sykeston last April. Sorenson's fiance, Aron Nichols, is charged with murder. He and Sorenson are on trial together in Devils Lake. Read more
