Look, they had sick animals in an unclean environment, they have already been in courts for this same thing in another county and I don't care if they stuck a GPS device in the middle of their forehead with a nailgun - if they are convicted send them to jail and also make it a crime if they own animals in the future (yes, that has been done before).

Looks like their motivation may not have been the well-being of the animals, but only to make a buck. If convicted they should have to give unpaid work hours to the County Animal Shelter too!
