West Nile Virus Found in Two Hackettstown Mosquitoes

Two Culex mosquitoes found in separate parts of Hackettstown in late August were found to be carrying West Nile Virus, Hackettstown Police said. Samples were collected from Sandbar Park/Alumni Field as well as in the area of Baldwin and 4th Street on Aug. 28, police said.

Training grants available at WCCC for healthcare profession hopefuls

Warren County Community College's Continuing Education Department has funds for training grants for qualified individuals looking to obtain employment in the healthcare industry. The Health Profession Opportunity Grants program provides funds to train Temporary Assistance for Needy Families recipients and other low-income individuals for healthcare occupations expected to experience high and growing demand for workers.

Hasbrouck Heights man pleads guilty to embezzling $70K from NJ school district

A Hasbrouck Heights man pleaded guilty Friday to embezzling about $70,000 from a school district in Warren County, authorities said. Under the plea agreement, Kevin M. Mulligan 34, the former business administrator of the Knowlton Township Board of Education, faces a possible prison sentence of three years, said John J. Hoffman, the acting state attorney general.

Warren County man stalks young girl, threatens another on Facebook, authorities say

Already convicted of impersonating a New Jersey State Police trooper and threatening to arrest a woman if she did not go on a date with him, a Warren County man is now charged stalking a young girl and coercing another to send him sexually explicit photos. Bear chased from music festival in Warren County

Unbeknownst to many in attendance, police on Sunday afternoon chased a bear away from Warren County's largest street festival. First spotted on Gibson place, the young black bear -- believed to be about a year old -- crossed through yards along School Street in Washington and made its way to the area of the Midtown Municipal Parking Lot and East Church Street, according to Washington Township police, who patrol the borough.
