Charlotte Jacobs, 85, Indianola

<![CDATA[Charlotte Eleanor Jacobs, 85, of Indianola, died March 15, 2014, and was born June 16, 1928 in Indianola, Ia. to Harold and Vera (Ruble) Anderson of Indianola. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister. Charlotte attended and graduated from Indianola High School where she also lived out her life. She married Charles Alden Jacobs in 1948, and her greatest joy in life was in raising and spending time with her children Steven G. Jacobs (Libby) of West Des Moines, Ia.; Glee Ann Jacobs of Beachwood, Ohio; and Sue Ellen (Kelly) Sparks of Ward, Ark.; and grandchildren; Stephanie (Aaron) Ogilvie of Kansas City, Mo.; Tanner Sparks of Conway, Ark.; Kelsey Sparks of Little Rock, Ark.; and Shelby Jacobs of West Des Moines, Ia. She was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church in Indianola where over the years she was a Sunday school teacher and later volunteered in the library. Charlotte worked as an administrative assistant for many years at the Blue Ribbon Hatchery and State Farm Insurance, and retired as a deputy auditor at the Warren County Auditor's Office. After retirement she enjoyed working at the Warren County Historical Museum, attending garden club events, taking care of her flowers and visiting family and friends. Later in life Charlotte lived in the Westview Care Center where she made fast friends of all of the nurses, aides and residents, and appreciated the outpouring of love by friends, families and neighbors who called, sent cards and visited regularly. Besides her immediate family, Charlotte is survived by her beloved nieces Glenna Herron, Pat McDole and Mary Jacobs, nephews Rick Fetters and Brent Fetters, and her dear sister-in-law Glee Fetters. A memorial service and celebration of Charlotte's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday March 19, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church. A luncheon is planned following the service. Memorials in lieu of flowers to First United Methodist Church in Indianola, Ia.
