A state agency estimates that a pesticide waste collection program has saved Mississippi farmers almost $1 million in disposal fees since it began in the mid-1990s. Ronn Killebrew of the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality says the program has reduced environmental risks and improved water quality in rural Mississippi.
